2009!!!!!!

This year we have many great ideas of what we want to do. We will be doing our 2nd annual art show, we will do another play this year, and we are learning about writing letters!!! We will be starting our Flat Stanley project soon!!!

So far we have made mailboxes to get notes from our friends, we learned about popcorn, we have created bio-poem people, and we are using our whisper phones to help us read!!!

We are doing the Bully Blocker program this year. Our 6th graders have just started the N.O.V.A. program. We have learned about the phases of the moon and we did good on our test.

We are going to start learning about Europe and the artist Paul Klee and his style of art. Throughout the year we will discuss all of the continents and the different styles of art that come from each continent.

Pop art!!

We are currently working on pop art from the 60's and we have been discussing Rauschenberg. In his art he created collages about things that were happening at the time. The students made collages about themselves and things that are happening currently. We also created hamburger collages. They had to choose things on a hamburger and place them where they wanted. It really showed their personalities as to organizational skills!! Here are some pictures of the students' Rauschenbergs!!

It has been awhile and we have been very busy. We are in the process of loading our Worm movie onto the computer and then the blog. We are now reading Candy Shop War and we will be posting activities we are doing with the book.
The 6th graders had their dance. They had a good time!!!

Still talking about worms!!

We have been practicing our worm play, and if all goes well we will have it set to music using garage band. The kids will pick the genre of music and will say their lines to it. Wish us luck!

Worms!!

We practiced our worm play today! We learned about worms and how they move. They don't like light. Worms have 5 hearts.
They do not have teeth. There are over 2,000 kinds of worms. South Africa had a worm that was 22 feet long!
